My new dog is chewing through our chain link fencing! Help!?

I just adopted a 3 year old female Siberian Husky. I already have a 7 month old male English mastiff. He is so big and is an outside dog so we wanted him to have a play mate.

Well, Shelly, the husky, chewed through our brand new chain link fence.we don't have the money for fancy electronic fencing, what else can we do to prevent her from doing this???

The only thing that will work is putting an electric wire around the bottom of the fence a few inches out from the fence. If they get shocked from it they will stay away from it. The electric box something like Fido shock cost about 40.00 and the wire is pretty cheap. You could buy clips for your chain link fence to hold the wire out from it.
the electric fencing you can get for about $300, you might want to look into it.
This won't help u much, but let's just say I can relate. I hada dog that usta chew glass with no problem. You're dog will probly grow out of it if u just scold her %26 stay persistant. If that does not help, call the dog wisperer! How much room does she have 2 run? Maybe she's bored. Usually u hear of dogs digging under the fence, but chewing thru it!
Hello..hmm, couldn't have been the stronger of the chain link if she can chew thru it..so either, stronger chain link maybe hook a battery to it somehow so it emits a tiny, annoying shock ..not something that would fry her or a piece of plywood where she chews, something she can't sink her teeth on cuz it's flat %26 smooth unlike the link, but you're going to have to do something unless you want her to escape ..also if you catch her doing this, give her a firm no. praise when she quits %26 hand her something she should chew like a rawhide, knuckle or leg bone ..nothing wimpy for sure if she's chewing chain link !! Take Care :)
I had the same problem with my lab. We eventually upgraded to a much stronger steel type kennel.
But in the mean time I would recommend purchasing a kennel/cage that can fit just Shelly. It might seem harsh to kennel her during the day, but what if she gets out and never returns? Also I would recommend taking her to a basic training class for adult dogs. Even if she already knows how to sit, stay, heel...she will understand that you are her new owner, and that all commands come from you and she must abide.
Good Luck!!
