My pug won't eat.?

I just recently adopted a pug and since we got her she won't eat. Is this normal? Is it because of the stress of going to new living enviorment?
Answers:
Don't pander to her. Typically pugs are picky eaters. Find a good quality dry food and stick with it. Try to stay away from treats because they also prone to obesity. No healthy dog will strave to death.

Thank-you so much for adopting a rescued dog. There are a lot of reasons why dogs end up in rescue through no fault of their own.
could be the reason why she was up for adoption... well bred, well trained , healthy dogs are usually not put up for adoption... try to find out about her past so you can help her
Some pugs may take a while to adjust. If you got her from a good rescue organization she has been checked out by a vet thoroughly, if you adopted this pug from an individual that just needed to get rid of it, you made need to consider taking her to the vet. Try putting the food bowl down for a couple of minutes and if she just sniffs it and walks away, put it up on the counter for a while. Try it again several hours later. I have even put some dog food in my hand and made my dogs feel like it is a treat. She may need a little encouragement. Coming from a rescue, prior owners may not have treated her all that well. Hold off on treats, stick with the regular top-quality food. Stress does play a factor, her teeth may also play a factor, is she missing any or are they in poor condition? Some times if the food is cold or hard and they have a poor dental condition it may make her situation a little more difficult. If she still doesn't eat anything in more than a couple of days, check with your vet and make sure there are not any other issues that are not so apparent. Good luck, you can do this, hang in there. :o)
Yes that is a normal reaction to stress especially being in a new environment and few dogs react totally the opposite with stress and would eat and drink till they burst.

You did not say how long you had her, but try not giving her too much goodies trying to get her to eat, otherwise you could create a picky monster, just make sure she has plenty of water available as stress can cause them to dehydrate and set down her food bowel in a quiet spot 2 times a day and pick up after 20 minutes, you can add a small dollop of plain yogurt to help settle her stomach as it may be upset from the stress as well
my sister had a dog she had got off the internet and her and her dog became very close to each other well on week she was let out side to do her thing and someone took my sisters dog. 2 weeks later her dog showed back up and the dog was very skinny my guess is that the dog got home sick and would not eat as soon as the dog was back in her care she started eating again. Maybe your pug is home sick, try differant things to make your pug feel more at ease.Like new chew toys something she/he can comsume.
i would call my local vet or try giving it diffrent foods
