My puppies?

My Boston terrier had three pups ( I rescued her pregnant) they are all nice and tubby. My question is two have been gaining an ounce a day while the other has been gaining almost 2 a day. Are the others behind on their weight gain?
Answers:
Probably not! As long as all the pups are eating well, gaining weight and are healthy, then there should be no concerns. The pup gaining weight the fastest may be getting more to eat than the other two.
The best thing to do would be to take them to your pet doctor so they can be examined and evaluated. If they haven't been dewormed or given their first shots then you might want to look into this. The vet will then tell you if there is something to be concerned about or not.

If the pups are still nursing, be sure to feed their mother a good-quality food. Though you should always feed her well, this is an especially critical time for her and the pups to get adequate nutrition.
Most holistic brands would be suitable. Just don't feed her anything you can buy at the grocery store or at places like Walmart. And most so-called "top selling" brands like Iams, Nutro, Science Diet and Eukanuba are actually inferior products that won't provide the nutrition she needs. Brands like Purina and Pedigree are far worse.
Unfortunately they, like so many other foods, contain unnecessary, unhealthy, and even harmful ingredients which you should avoid at all costs.

Below I have listed some links to help guide you through the maze of dog food choices. And take good care of your "babies".

After all, they are counting on you!
not neccesarilly. my chihuahua dog just had a litter of four puppies, and my vet instructed me that as long as they are each gaining daily, thats all that matters. You may just have two runts, like I had. One thing you can do to help, is arrange them while they are feeding. Put the smallest ones on the mother's nipples that are the largest and producing the most milk. I have two puppies that gain about an ounce a day, and two that gain about two a day. They are the largest, but they are all healthy.
Congrats Mom! And, thank you for rescuing your baby, and your baby's babies too!

You really got an arm full with this little adoption!

As long as your pups are gaining and appear to be alert you should be fine.

There is nothing wrong with taking the pups in to the vet, you can call the rescue where you adopted her for the number of a vet that may give a discount for rescues.

How much fun are you going to have!
they are on track...just as long as they are not losing weight then you are ok...also make sure they are on schedule when it comes to their eyes opening, crawling, walking normally, and are playfull/active
