My puppy gives off a very bad urine smell, but no urine?

My 8-10 month old(not exactly sure) Lab/Chow puppy gives off this very horrid urine smell about once a week and it's very unpleasant and stains anything he lays on for at least 2-3 days. Anyone have any idea what it could be? The first time I smelled it was when he pushed over a thing of dishes and pissesd everywhere in fright and noticed it smelled very horrid. Recently he hasn't been urinating anywhere but he still gives off the smell and we can't figure out what the deal is. Whining(we call it squeaking) a lot is what he usually does first then eventually the smell lingers out of him. Can anyone help me out?

Have you had him checked for a urinary tract infection?? Could be that, or kidney problems, or MANY other things..Take him to the Vet, so he can de diagnosed and treated..He's probably very uncomfortable
You need to have your pup checked by a veterinarian. He could have an infection causing the odor. It could range from a bladder infection to a kidney infection, and either way, it will not subside on its own, but rather can and probably will get more serious with time. Definately have him see the doctor.
Best of luck.

He could have a kidney problem that would be my first guess. I would get him to the Vet they will take a blood test to check his kidney's. Also there are certain types of dog food that will make your dogs urine smell real bad. The only perosn that can really help you is a vet.
