I would like it all to lay on the same side of his neck.

You would probably be better off asking on the horse board rather than the dog board.
Well he likes his hair parted in the middle. What's wrong with that? It's his hair.
It's good to see I am not the only person to get really out there with things to be concerned about. However our pony's mane does the same thing so maybe that is natural for them. My son's girlfriend grooms her and just lets it go natural after she trims it out of her eyes.
I dont know
this is about dogs.
I would though try brushing it over to where you wanted it to. most horse manes are gonna do whatever they wanna do. their coarse and have callicks. I dont think you will get to control that part.
keep trying to train it maybe ask the horse grooming ppl if there are any gels that u can use on here i know there are some ive used them in the past on some show horse i took care of after time we finally just trained thier hair to go the way we wanted it to its kind of like human hair where u train it to part certain place or how u train it to stay back well good luck hope this help
You have to kinds train it to stay to one side. I usually save the bottom at his wither and his bridle path. But I will braid mines mane to one side and leave it a day and redo it it helps hold it down on one side.
My horse has the same problem. First, push the mane to the side you want it, then soak it down. When it's nice and wet, brush it out until there are no tangles. The hair has to be wet or else it will not stay on one side. If you need to, you can also use safe hairspray or hair gel to keep the mane down. You just need to train it to stay on one particular side. Whenever you see your horse, automatically brush it to the one side. Soon, it will just stay that way. Good luck and happy trails!
