About a week ago my puppy started shedding really bad and he is almost bald I do not understand why this is happening

By getting bald, do you mean he is getting really bald spots, or do you mean, the long hair is suddenly looking like short hair? Around 4 mo old, chihuahuas will blow their coat. The long coat will come back in in a few months. If it is really getting bald spots, take it to the vet. It could be mange, ringworm, allerfies, etc.
Its just shedding because how hot its getting outside i know this because my Chihuahua is doing this too.

He needs to get to the vet asap. He could have a fungal infection or as stated in other answers mange. It does need to be treated as soon as possible to prevent any other illness.
he might have mange (it is a virus that lives on all dogs but multiplies on some more than others) does he have pimples, or puss pockets on his paws and chest? that is another sign of mange. It could also be poor diet, another type of rash, or scabies. Your best bet is the vet
