My long haired chihuahua is losing fur, what could cause that?

My long-haired chihuahua is about 7 months old and she is losing fur from her hind legs half way up to her belly and i don't know what is making this happen. The only thing i know she does have is fleas which i'm trying to take care of, could that be causing it???
Answers:
There are a lot of things this could be, I recommend going to a vet and having a skin scrapping completed.
Normally it's either Demodex, a yeast infection or an allergy - all of which are entirely treatable but all can get worse if not treated - so get to a vet.
maybe be shdding from the warm weather. or mange
Could be flea allergies, see your vet, you don't say how you are trying to take care of the fleas, could be you are using something that she is allergic to as well.
Yes and no.
Yes, because fleas irritate them so much that they consort to biting themselves. This usually makes their fur come off.
Then again, if she did that, her legs would be bleeding.
No, because it could be mange, cancer, or something else that the world is unaware of.

Take her to the vet soon, ok?
what color is she?

some colors like the blue or issibella can have alopecia. or she could be fighting demodexx, it could also be a thyroyed problem, or ring worm, but she might be to young for that to hapen , take her to your vet they will need to do tests to ind out what it is.
Mange is a possible answer.
Also, an allergic reaction might cause it.
Is your dog blue? Blue chihuahuas often lose their fur.
You should take the dog to a vet.
Good luck.
In a word. FLEAS. get her a flea bath right away, or use Skin So Soft bath oil, made by Avon, full strength all over her. It kills the fleas on contact. You should ask your vet about a little pill they take once a month it keeps them free of worms and fleas, and everything else that bites them, ticks, mosquitoes. Your house may be infested with fleas also. You will need to bomb it with a pest bomb Enforcer is a good one. Lots of luck.
that could be causing it but most of all she could have gotten into something when you were cleaning the house try to wash her with some doggy shampoo that is for sensitive skin it might help and if not then consult your vet
