My mum loves dogs, but she doesnt want one because they smell, how will i perswade her to get me a dog ??

theres only a few breeds that really do smell whether you wash them or not.

the others only really smell if you dont wash them weekly, allow them to roll in crap or feed them a bad diet (like human food).

maybe she just doesnt want a dog. they can be quite expensive.. a regular dog costs around $2000 a year for food, defleaing, worming... not including first year setup and immunisations, toys, leashes and training... and not including any vet visits if it gets sick.

HUH? Dogs don't smell unless you aren't taking good care of them.. If you feed a good quality food, get them good exercise, and fresh water.. Dogs just don't smell.. If you leave it in a crate all the time, or leave it in a run and feed crappy food, they have bad breath, they smell.

Promise her youll wash the dog bi weekly, unless very dirty. Ensure your mom youll pick up the mess after the dog.
Ensure your mom that you'll be responsible in feeding,and taking care of it.

Dogs are alot of fun, but at first are a big repsonsiblitiy and alot of work. So, proving to your mom that youre ready for that responsibility is the key element to that.

Could it be that your mom just uses dogs are smelly as an excuse not to get one because she doesnt believe youre ready for the responsibility yet?

Dogs smell correct. But humans also smell. If dogs are kept washed and dusted and cleaned of fleas, they will not smell.Please tell your mother about this. Also tell her that without performs and toiletry we will also smell. You can also tell her about the love the dogs show and their response to attack on the owners and their property.

Feed the dog food that doesn't smell like crap. Give the dog a bath at least once a week. Train the dog to poop outside. Pick up the poop weekly. Tell your mom all of these responsibilities and tell her that the dog is all your responsibility.

huh? most dogs don't smell unless they are outside and not taken care of...and some breeds...hounds and spaniels tend to have an odor...but a bath is an easy cure. oatmael shampoo is about the best..besure its on a healthy diet. and human food does not cause a dog to smell. one just has to be wise what to feed and what not to give dogs. mine don't smell and they get raw and home cooked foods.
