My friend has a pit bull, boxer mix puppy is that a ok dog?

Answers:
As long as he is trained properly, he will be a wonderful dog. Breed has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Yes, as long as he/she trains him correctly. It doesn't really matter as it's not your dog anyway, right?
Okay for what? Only the personality will dictate whether that dog is approprate for your friend. I see nothing wrong with that breed combination.
My dog is part boxer and they are very loving. I am not sure about the pit bull part, but I have known people with them and I think it depends on the owner. the ones I have been around have been well behaved.
Any dog can be a good dog with proper training... If you abuse the animal or allow bad habits to form then you are asking for an animal that becomes defensive and mean.
If he raises it with love and respect it will be a great dog. If he kicks it around and tries to make it fight or tries to make it an attack dog, then it will probably be lethal.
If the dog is trained and treated correctly, yes.

The dog also needs to be properly socialized.

Get your "friend" to get a professional trainer if there's any problem at all.

That is an awesome dog! I would do agility with it. If the dog shows a little bit f agression, I would start training it right away though so it doesn't get worse.
Is your friend a good guy, how a dog is taken care of and treated has a lot to do with what kind of do they will be, even a pitbull. My uncle has a pitbull and keeps him inside with his family and he is great with kids. So it just depends on how they are raised.
If he trains him properly ,socialize him with people and dogs everything will be ok! I bet he's beautiful!!! good luck
Who knows for sure,..mixed dogs are always better as they dont carry the strain of health problems typical to a breed.
The gene splicing removes that trait,...Boxers usually carry a freindly temperment even though they look agressive.

Pitbulls dont always have a an aggresive temperment, unless they are isolated and roughed up.

But they were bred to fight and can have triggers. Triggers as you no doubt have heard have a injurious and sometimes fatal result.

I would say that you have maybe the best of both in that kind of a breed perhaps with the intelligence to know when to be protective and when not.

It really depends on how your friend raises his pup.
Maybe this information gives you an idea
Should be okay, every breed needs a specific type of owner, a responsible one. Mixed breeds alsomake the best family pets, usually the dogs you here about hurting someone bad is a inbred dog with owners who wernt responsible, and every dog is going to be differant just like people, watch ceaser milan.
ANY BREED 0F D0G IS AND 0KAY ANIMAL. IT IS N0T AB0UT THE BREED. IT IS AB0UT THE TRAINER/0WNER. I CURRENTLY 0WN A WHITE SHEPARD/W0LF MIX. SHE IS A SWEETHEART. I HAVE TRAINED MANY BREEDS 0F "BAD D0GS" FR0M R0TTWEILERS T0 CH0WS. WHEN THEY D0 WR0NG REPERMAND THEM WITH A FIRM V0ICE. M0RE IMP0RTANTLY PRAISE THEM WHEN THEY D0 WHAT Y0U ASK 0F THEM.
Just as the genetic history of humans does not determine who they are the genetics of a dog does not determine what that dog will be. Environment will determine how the dog reacts. If your friend is kind and loves the dog and is very careful to keep cowardly people away from the dog the dog will be friendly and an excellent pet. However your friend must be very careful who he allows to react with this dog. Any hostility will frighten the dog and frightened dogs are considered vicious. This dog must never be trained to be a guard dog in any way. However this kind of dog will be the focus of vicious nonhuman vermin(who are even more detestable than the Nazis that should be exterminated) that fight dogs. For the dog to be a pet your friend must really love dogs.
well ill tell you this: A good friend of mine also had a pit boxer mix and he loved my wife to death. one day we were all over at his house and she got up to throw something away and he attacked her and tried dragging her into a closet. she spent 2 days in the hospital and is scared for life..so.no they are not OK
Just because the dog has Pit in it doesn't mean its a bad dog. A pit is not a bad dog. Its the owner's of them that can be bad. If they have a violent threatening enviroment they will be that way, cause it's all they know. but if you raise it right and love it then it will be THAT way. Dogs give you what you give them.
Both dogs have a mean streak in their instinct. If it's brought up good it will be a nice dog but even so, watch out. Like most of those sort of dogs it can attack without warning.

  1. I have a pit bull boxer mix puppy who is 9 months old and she is absolutely wonderful! She is our first puppy together (my fiancĂ© and I). She is the most loving dog I've ever had. She demands attention all the time but other than that she is basically glued to my side. She is the sweetest dog with people, animals, and especially children. We are having issues with house training but we are working with her on it. She still goes to the bathroom inside sometimes but not nearly as much as she use to. It is slowly but surely getting better. She loves pig’s ears and sleeping under the covers with her head on the pillow. She also loves showers and playing outside for extended periods of time. She is also wonderful with me 3 year old little sister. They play, eat and sleep together. She is by far the best puppy that I have ever had. Just make sure that your friend is aware that they can be rough while playing. My puppy has a tendency of nibbling while playing. But if ever she accidentally breaks skin, she kisses all over me and will not play until way later in the day. So I believe that this breed is wonderful but that all really depends on the owner’s preference as well how much time they have to spend with the puppy.
    ~Best of luck !
