My dogue de bordeaux puppy has a real bad underbite. Should it be corrected?
Answers:
Unless it affects her eating/drinking abilities, then it's nothing to be concerned about. Underbites are relatively common in the Dogue de Bordeaux breed.
i would say no but you need to be consulting your vet about this problem. at any rate, the dog should not be used for breeding.
As long as she is having no trouble eating and you're not planning on using her as a show dog, then don't worry about it. The surgery would be VERY expensive and painful, and you would probably have to repeat it later on because that kind of surgery puts a ton of extra stress on the jaw.
The dog would be in pain forever.
